Your memories belong to you — and only you. This policy explains what we collect, how we protect it, and the rights you have at every step.

SweetMemory AI ("we", "our", or "us") helps families preserve their memories, voices, and stories for generations. We take privacy seriously — because the data you trust us with is the most personal kind there is. This policy describes our practices in plain language.

By using SweetMemory AI, you agree to the practices described here. If you don't agree with any part of it, please don't use our services.

01Information We Collect

We only collect what's necessary to make SweetMemory AI work for you and your family.

Account information

  • Mobile phone number — required to register and sign in. We do not collect or use email for accounts
  • One-Time Password (OTP) sent by SMS to verify your phone number
  • Your name and a profile photo (optional)
  • Family role (e.g. parent, grandparent) and the relationships you set up
  • Device session tokens used to keep you signed in securely

Memory content

  • Photos, videos, voice recordings, and written diary entries you upload
  • Family chat messages and call transcripts
  • Tags, dates, and labels you add to organize your memories

Technical data

  • Device type, operating system, and app version
  • Approximate location (city level) for service quality
  • Crash logs and basic usage analytics — fully anonymized

02How We Use Your Information

We use your information for these purposes — and nothing else:

  • To verify your identity by sending a One-Time Password (OTP) to your phone number when you sign up or log in
  • To provide the core service: storing, organizing, and recalling your family memories
  • To train your private Digital Brain and Voice Model — used only by you and the family members you authorize
  • To send service-related notifications inside the app, or by SMS where required (e.g. login OTP, backup completed, voice call ready)
  • To improve our app's stability and performance through anonymous diagnostics
  • To respond when you contact our support team
We never sell your data. Ever. Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anyone.

03Phone Number & OTP

SweetMemory AI uses your mobile phone number as the only way to register and sign in. We do not use email or passwords for accounts — this keeps things simple for every family member, including elders.

How it works

  • You enter your phone number in the app
  • We send a 6-digit One-Time Password (OTP) by SMS
  • You enter the code to verify the number is yours
  • That's it — no password to remember, no email to manage

How we protect your phone number

  • It is stored encrypted at rest and never publicly displayed
  • OTPs expire within 5 minutes and can only be used once
  • We rate-limit OTP requests to prevent abuse and SMS spam
  • We use trusted SMS providers under strict data-processing agreements; they receive only the number and the OTP code, nothing else
  • Standard carrier SMS rates may apply when receiving OTPs

Changing or removing your number

You can change your phone number in Settings → Account at any time — it will require OTP verification of the new number. If you delete your account, your phone number is removed from active systems immediately.

04Zero-Knowledge Encryption

Your most sensitive content — photos, recordings, diary entries, and voice models — is protected with end-to-end encryption. Only you and the family members you choose can decrypt it.

  • Data is encrypted on your device before it reaches our servers
  • We don't hold the keys, so we literally cannot read your content
  • Backups are encrypted with your own passphrase
  • Even if our servers were compromised, your memories would remain unreadable

05Sharing & Disclosure

We share your information only in these limited cases:

  • With family members you invite — and only the content you choose to share with them
  • With trusted service providers (cloud storage, payment processing) under strict confidentiality contracts
  • If legally required by a valid court order — and we'll notify you whenever we're allowed to
  • In a business transition (merger, acquisition) — your privacy protections will carry over unchanged

06AI & Voice Models

SweetMemory AI builds personal AI models for your family — like a Digital Brain that remembers stories and a Voice Model that can speak in a loved one's voice.

  • Each model is private to your family and not used to train any general-purpose AI
  • You explicitly consent before any voice or face is cloned
  • You can delete a model at any time, and we'll wipe it from all servers within 30 days
  • We never use your content to train models for other users

07Cookies & Tracking

Our website uses a small number of cookies to keep you signed in and to measure basic traffic. We do not use third-party advertising trackers, fingerprinting, or cross-site tracking. You can disable cookies in your browser, though some features may not work as smoothly.

08Children's Privacy

SweetMemory AI is meant for use by family members aged 13 and over. Younger children may appear in family content uploaded by a parent or guardian, but we do not knowingly collect data directly from children under 13. If you believe a child has set up an account without consent, please contact us and we'll remove it promptly.

09Your Rights

No matter where you live, you have these rights with SweetMemory AI:

  • Access — download a copy of all your data at any time
  • Correction — fix any inaccurate information in your account
  • Deletion — permanently erase your account and all associated content
  • Portability — export your memories in standard formats
  • Withdrawal of consent — opt out of features like voice cloning at any time

10Delete Your Account

You can request permanent deletion of your SweetMemory AI account and associated personal data at any time. Once complete, your account, memories, voice clone, and other content cannot be recovered.

How to request deletion

  1. Open SweetMemory AI and go to Settings. Note your phone number and display name.
  2. Email [email protected] with subject line Delete my SweetMemory account.
  3. Include your registered phone number (with country code), display name, and confirmation that you want permanent deletion.
  4. We verify ownership and confirm when deletion is complete (within 30 days).

What we delete

  • Account profile (phone number, name, photo, preferences)
  • Family connections, chats, messages, and notifications
  • Memories, moments, photos, videos, and diary entries
  • Voice calls, recordings, transcripts, and voice clone data
  • Push notification tokens and in-app settings

What we may keep

  • Subscription and billing records for tax and fraud prevention (up to 7 years where required by law)
  • Encrypted backups purged within 30 days after deletion
  • Anonymized security logs that cannot be linked back to you

Delete data without closing your account

You can delete individual memory sessions, moments, diary entries, and your voice clone inside the app. Email us to request removal of other specific data without deleting your entire account.

11Data Retention

We keep your memories for as long as your account is active — that's the whole point. When you delete content or close your account, here's what happens:

  • Deleted memories are removed from our active servers immediately
  • Encrypted backups are purged within 30 days
  • Anonymous analytics may persist longer but cannot be linked back to you
  • We keep minimal billing records for up to 7 years where required by tax law

12Changes to This Policy

If we make significant changes, we'll let you know through an in-app notice and an SMS to your registered phone number at least 30 days before they take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of SweetMemory AI after changes means you accept the updated policy.
